Best No Spread Sugar Cookie

One last amazing thing about this recipe is that it requires no Chilling! Mix it, Pat it and bake it in the oven!

A basic cookie, like a sugar cookie, should taste awesome by itself and feel just right. Putting icing and stuff on top is fun for special occasions, but the cookie itself should be so good that it doesn’t need those extras to be tasty.

Sugar Cookie Ingredients

Any good cookie is a product of good ingredients. Here’s what goes into this recipe.

  • Unsalted Butter: Using a good quality unsalted butter allows you to have more control over how much salt is in your recipe.
  • Sugar: You will use granulated sugar for this recipe.
  • Egg: A large, room temp egg is the best.
  • Vanilla extract & salt: That wonderful addition to heightening the flavors.
  • Baking Powder: This is what will make your cookie soft.
  • Flour: All-Purpose unbleached flour is what you will use for this cookie recipe.

Best No Spread Sugar Cookie

These are perfect for cookie decorating. The cut out are crisp and clean. The best sugar cookie recipe for beginners too!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 Cups Unsalted butter Softened
  • 1 1/2 Cups Sugar
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 2 Tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Baking powder
  • 4 3/4 Cups Unbleached flour Fluff the flour before

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375 Fahrenheit
  • In a large bowl cream together the butter and sugar for about 30 seconds until smooth.
  • Beat in eggs, vanilla, salt and baking powder.
  • Gradually add in the flour until you have a nice play dough consistency. (Don’t over mix)
  • Roll out dough on lightly floured surface with your desired cutter.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes in a preheated oven or until golden. Let stand on cookie sheet for 5 minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.

Notes

Important* When measuring, avoid packing your flour and remember to fluff it before adding it to your recipe.
