Best Shortbread Cookies!

Quiet honestly these are actually my husbands favorite cookies ever!! I guarantee you’ll have all the ingredients sitting in your pantry! And make sure to hide them if you want to save any for the neighbors! Speaking of neighbors, the kids and I plan on passing these out today. It’s a tradition we started many many years ago.

Yield: 2 Dozen


  • 16 oz Salted Butter softened
  • 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla bean extract
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour

  1. Preheat oven for 350 F
  2. In a mixer, combine soft butter, powdered sugar and vanilla and beat until fluffy.
  3. Add flour and beat until dough comes together.
  4. Roll out dough in between two saran plastic wraps to 1/4 inch thick (if the dough is too sticky you will need to add some flour)
  5. Cut into desired shape and place it on pan covered in parchment paper.
  6. Refrigerate for 15 minutes
  7. Bake for 9 to 12 minutes until they begin to brown lightly around the edges.
  8. Once cooled you can use my  to decorate and have fun!
